Co-operate with others

You can manage a website with others, and everyone can have different capabilities.

Capabilities are represented by “roles”, and what role you have on a website determine your capability on the site.

List of Roles

  1. Administrator: have the ultimate capability in the entire website and can give other people a role. The creator of the site is the first administrator.
  2. Editor: can manage all the posts and pages.
  3. Author: can publish post, and can also edit own posts.
  4. Contributor: can write post, but need someone else to approve it before publishing.
  5. Subscribers: can’t do anything.
  6. No role for this site: no role on this site, will be removed from your site’s user list. The user’s CW.Center personal account and role on other sites are not affected.

Add a user without CW.Center personal account to your site

  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. Click “Users” on the left.
  3. Click “Add New” at the top.
  4. Use the “Add New User” below to create a new CW.Center personal account and give it a role on your site.
  5. Enter the username for the new account in the “Username”, use the part of email address before “@” in most case.
  6. Enter the email address of the new account in “Email”.
  7. Select the role that you want the new user be in the “Role”.
  8. Click “Add New User” below.
  9. The system will send a mail to the new user, the new user should click the link in the mail to activate the account.
  10. Please help the new user to learn how to use the Dashboard.

Add users with existing CW.Center personal account to your site

  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. Click “Users” on the left.
  3. Click “Add New” at the top.
  4. Use the “Add Existing User” above to give the existing CW.Center personal account a role on your site.
  5. Enter the username or email address of the account in “Email or Username”.
  6. Select the role you want to give the user in the “Role”.
  7. Check “Skip Confirmation Email”.
  8. Click “Add Existing User” below.

Adjust the role of an existing user

  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. Click “Users” on the left.
  3. You will see a list of users in your site, click “Edit” below the user you want to adjust.
  4. Find the “Role” option and set “Role” to the new role that you want the user to be.
  5. Click “Update User” below.
